As leaks continue to surface regarding Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Remastered, it seems like the third title in the franchise is also being developed – and has been, for some time.

Prominent Call of Duty leaker ‘TheGamingRevolution’ took to Twitter to confirm that Modern Warfare 3 Remastered is in development.

“MW3 Remastered has been getting worked on for a while now too,” he revealed. That said, he has no idea when the title will be dropping.

A leaker claims MW 3 Remastered is in the works.

“I wonder how/when that’s going to drop,” he added, suggesting that he has no idea if the game will come out during the lifespan of the current CoD title.

It’s also unclear if this will just be the campaign or a multiplayer experience. As Dexerto has previously reported, artwork and cosmetics pertaining to MW2 were found within Modern Warfare’s files by dataminers.

That said, while the leak was only for a campaign, it seems like some classic maps will be given an upgrade for rotation in the newest Modern Warfare title.

The original Modern Warfare games boasted one of the strongest campaigns in FPS history, with the sequel best known for its infamous “No Russian” mission, while the third was renowned for its Michael Bay-styled action set pieces.

Back in 2016, Activision published a Remastered version of the original Modern Warfare. That title included the campaign alongside the multiplayer, and had a physical release.

It’s possible that MW 3 Remastered is packaged in the next Call of Duty game as DLC – but at this point, we may need to see how the MW 2 Remaster is handled first.

Modern Warfare 2 Remastered could be coming on March 30.

Speaking of which, another prominent leaker, ‘Okami’ has claimed that we won’t have to wait long for more information on that subject. According to them, Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered is releasing on March 30.

For now, all fans can do is to wait and see.
