Shroud camps his way to first Modern Warfare nuke

The former Counter-Strike pro, Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek has been grinding his way through the Modern Warfare beta lately and just earned his first nuke with less than 24 hours to go.

An FPS phenom and streaming sensation, shroud is one of the most recognizable faces on Twitch today and his latest obsession has been the Modern Warfare beta.

Released across all platforms on September 19, the public beta marks the first time that an entry in the Call of Duty franchise has allowed crossplay between PC and console gamers.

Harnessing his technical prowess with a mouse and keyboard, Shroud finally earned the exceedingly difficult nuke killstreak on the final full day of the beta.

In a September 22 stream, shroud played cautiously in the Ground War game mode and essentially kept within a single building to acquire the match-ending streak.

Accumulating kills in the massive lobby which pits two teams of 32 players against one another, it took the esports veteran just under eight minutes to rack up 30 eliminations using only his weapons and equipment.

Using the M4A1 Assault Rifle, shroud held down the building just opposite of C Flag on the Karst River Quarry map. This spot nears the center of the map and oversees enemies crossing from all directions. With the high ground well in control, it was going to take a herculean effort to remove the streamer from his camping spot before the nuke was called in.

“GG,” he yells as he finds the pivotal kill to end it all. Sitting atop the leaderboard with 37 eliminations total and 0 deaths to his name.

Joking to his friends in the lobby, he acknowledged that sticking to one spot on the map was the crucial strategy, stating that “I was trying so hard right there, I was camping up a storm.”

In an unfortunate turn of events, fellow FPS phenom and Twitch streamer ‘aimbotcalvin’ recently encountered some bad luck trying for a nuke of his own.
