Audio’s been a pain point in Warzone for some time, and Season 2’s update looks to address a few concerns players have.

Since its release in 2020, audio has been a consistent issue in Warzone. Four years later, the issues are still persistent, if not seemingly worse, especially after MW3’s integration with the battle royale.

Numerous updates have tried to quell player concerns, such as the Season 1 Reloaded patch addressing audio occlusion, plane audio, and more, yet these changes didn’t address everything.

Season 2’s update is finally here, bringing a handful of adjustments for Warzone players that hopefully address some community pains.

As part of Warzone’s Season 2 update, the following changes have been implemented, as part of an attempt to “see a continued effort in improving threat-based in-game audio”:

  • Ascenders
    • Audible distance and volume increased.
  • Parachute
    • Audible distance and volume increased.
    • Removed environmental sounds that could be misconstrued as parachutes.
    • Reduced enemy parachute occlusion while firing a weapon.
  • Enemy Redeploy Drone
    • Players will now hear the intended VO when enemies are landing in their vicinity after using a Redeploy Drone.

So far, the changes have been welcomed by the community, particularly the parachute adjustment. Interestingly, the Flex Perk received an audio adjustment as part of the Season 2 patch. It’s still to be determined the impact of the adjustment, however.

Raven Software and Sledgehammer Games will certainly keep their ears to the forums in an attempt to remedy Warzone concerns. Season 2 has seen a bit of clarity in the form of a massive rework of ADS and hipfire sway.
