Destiny 2 fans desperate for weakest weapon class to get Hand Cannon treatment

Destiny 2 players are calling for Pulse Rifles to get buffed in a similar fashion to Hand Cannons believing that the Primary weapon class is in desperate need of some improvements.

Season of the Witch saw Hand Cannons receive a series of huge buffs. These buffs saw Destiny’s most iconic weapons go from arguably the worst Primary guns in PvE to a meta choice that is becoming increasingly popular.

The most notable buff given was that their damage against Major combatants – often referred to as Orange Health Bars – was increased by a massive 75%.

Now the Destiny 2 community is calling for Pulse Rifles to receive the same love, concerned that if left in their current state the burst weapon class will never be an effective option.

Destiny 2 players call for Pulse Rifle PvE buff to make them great again

As the Destiny 2 community reflects on the current Hand Cannon meta, some players are calling for Pulse Rifles to get the same treatment that led to Destiny’s most iconic weapon becoming so strong.

One upvoted Reddit post requesting as such simply stated: “Hand Cannon buff was great! Now do Pulse Rifles.”

This proposal was received well by the community: “With Pulse Rifles they could emulate the feeling of the Halo BR which mowed through weak enemies with exposed heads. A significant damage bonus to Red Bar enemies while keeping them less effective against Majors would give them a unique place.”

Other Guardians also backed a Pulse Rifle buff replying “Pulses need another 15-25% [damage boost],” and “100% agree with this… Pulse’s just do 30% average less damage than an [Auto Rifle] of the same archetype.”

Another player prayed for a meta change: “Imagine if we had a non-SMG PvE meta for literally the first time in D2 history. It doesn’t even need to be Pulse Rifles. Just give us a reason to use anything other than SMGs.”

Despite overall calls for a Pulse Rifle buff a handful of responses didn’t agree with those fans describing the burst guns as “fine,” and “in a good spot.”
