KEEMSTAR’s Friday Fortnite Tournament Breaks More Records Again on May 25th

It was another successful running of the Friday Fortnite tournament on May 25th, as the biggest names in gaming and YouTube put on a show for fans – pulling in millions of viewers.

The tournament, hosted and organized by YouTuber Daniel “KEEMSTAR” Keem and tournament website UMG, isn’t exactly about finding the best Fortnite players, but rather, as Keem himself put it, it’s a ‘clout’ tournament.

There are top Fortnite players involved, with the likes of TSM pro players Ali “Myth” Kabbani, Darryle “Hamlinz” Hamlin and Daequan “Daequan” Loco taking part, as well as this week’s winners, FaZe Clan pro’s Dennis “Cloak” Lepore and Turner “Tfue” Tenney.

But there are also some competitors who are not invited for their Fortnite ability, but rather for their popularity, namely YouTubers like Logan Paul and Roman Atwood. These big names help to draw in the massive viewing figures.

The players team up in duos, and battle against another duo to see who can get the highest number of kills over two squad games of Fortnite.

And for week 3, which boasted an increased prize pool of $20,000, the number of unique viewers rocketed once again – to 8.5 million according to KEEMSTAR himself.

Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, who is easily the most watched Fortnite streamer, made it all the way to the finals with his partner, Team Envy player King Richard, where they faced the FaZe Clan duo of Tfue and Cloak.

Having Ninja reach the final likely helped to boost the overall unique viewers, and pulling in 2.6 million on his stream alone might even be record breaking for his own channel in a single stream.

NickEh30 seems to be the most popular Fortnite streamer on YouTube, and considering he only managed 5/6th, his 1.5 million unique viewers is even more impressive.

Some viewers will have watched multiple streams, and so the ‘view’ will count twice for example. Because the tournament is streamed on so many channels, it would be impossible to keep track of this.

Keep an eye out for week 4 of the Friday Fortnite, which should be another night of top tier Fortnite entertainment, giving fans a taste of what competitive Fortnite could be.

And on the Saturday following, a small streamer version will go down, with the winners getting a spot in Week 5 of Friday Fortnite.
