MontanaBlack overtakes Shroud as Twitch streamer with the most subscribers

German streamer Marcel ‘Call of Duty and Fortnite player cleared the 35,000 mark this week.

Shroud, who took the platform’s top spot after the exodus of former Twitch superstar Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins to Mixer, is currently more than 3,000 behind MontanaBlack88. The German star currently boasts 35,705 subscribers, according to metrics website Twitchtracker.

Eris regularly plays Fortnite – even using his popularity on the game to Grand Theft Auto in recent times.

The 31-year-old celebrated his milestone moment by changing his stream title to “Numero Uno” and tweeted out his behind-the-scenes streaming metrics. At the time of the tweet, the German star had 35,233 subscribers.

“World number one with the subs,” said MontanaBlack in German in his celebration tweet. “Let somebody imitate us.”

    There are also some doubts about who controls the top subscriber count due to the official numbers remaining hidden. While many believed shroud led the way until this week, Twitch Analysis suggests Guy ‘DrDisrespect‘ Beahm has the most with 35,374.
