Users in Europe and North America are reporting an outage on PlayStation Network on October 1, despite the official status website currently stating that there are no issues.

Update, October 1, 11:20 EST: It looks like the PSN connection issues are starting to be resolved, with players reporting they can now get back online.

Sony have not commented yet on the mass outage, but it’s possible the problem has been fixed, so you may want to try your luck and see if you can now get online.

If you’re trying to login to your PlayStation account on October 1, you may find that you run into some difficulties, with thousands of users reporting a crash.

The PS network is one of the most popular, and with the outage seemingly affecting players around the world, it may be a major task for Sony to get things back up and running.

Lots of reports flooded in about the crash.

Website DownDetector, which allows users to report crashes, has seen a massive spike in reports at around 11 AM EST / 4 PM BST.

It’s unclear what exactly the issue is, but players on Twitter are apparently being told that the network is ‘down for maintenance’, despite no maintenance planned.

Sony are yet to comment on the issue but we will keep you up to date as and when more details are given.
