You’re going to be up against enemies as you navigate your way on Sons of the Forest‘s mysterious island. Hence, it’s important to have a weapon in hand. The Modern Axe can help you get the job done in the early game.

At first sight, the Modern Axe looks similar to the Firefighter Axe, though it’s not as hard-hitting as the latter. Still, it’s a great alternative that can get rid of hungry cannibals while you chop off trees.

And as a rule of thumb in survival games, carrying a melee weapon with you definitely wouldn’t hurt. So, here’s everything you need to know about how to get the Modern Axe in Sons of the Forest.

How to get the Modern Axe in Sons of the Forest

The Modern Axe can be found inside a tent around the island’s northwest part. Specifically, this particular tent can be found in an abandoned camp just by a road. 

To help you out, check out the image above that’s been marked. In that location, you’ll find three black tents nearby.

Head over to the tent in the middle, as that is where you’ll find the Modern Axe. There’ll be a slumped person inside the tent, and you can loot the Modern Axe from him by pressing “E” on your keyboard.

And that’s it. Now, the Modern Axe is all yours. It deals quite a decent amount of damage within medium range with low-medium attack speed, which should be enough to help you survive early on. 

Other than Modern Axe, you’ll also want to have a Rope Gun with you to help you travel quicker and a Winter Jacket to stay warm.
