The TFT Dragonlands Championship has wrapped up, with China’s Xunge winning in a closely-fought battle on Day 3. Here’s how the action from the $450,000 tournament wrapped up.

TFT esports is continuing to grow, and changes made to the competitive format for the TFT Dragonlands Championship is testament to that. An improved format and plenty on the line made Set 7 Worlds the game’s biggest event yet.

The prize pool has been increased by 50%, with just over $450,000 USD on the line across the event. This includes a record $150,000 USD first place prize — much larger than the $48,000 offered at the Gizmos & Gadgets Championship.

One region triumphed above the rest again though: China. While former world champion Huanmie was in the race for the TFT Set 7 title, it was Xunge who managed to come out on top, with two of his compatriots in the top 4.

Here’s how the action went down across the weekend.

TFT Dragonlands Championship: Schedule & results

Day 1: Title pulls ahead for Japan

Japan’s representatives Title and holi were the surprise packages of Day 1 of the TFT Dragonlands Championship. Title ended the day on top after posting back to back wins to start the day, while holi also clawed together a 2-1 start. However the latter fell off a cliff, ending the day on three eighths.

Other big names showed up: Soju proved he was more than a streamer with a consistent day pushing him into the Top 8, while Brazil’s Slooper and k0nda1 also raised eyebrows. It’d be remiss to ignore China’s dominance though, with three players in the Top 6 including former champion Huanmie.

Day 2: EMEA once again falter with no final day representatives

The EMEA Day 2 curse struck again at the TFT Dragonlands Championship as all but a handful of players capitulated with elimination on the line. Poland’s Lelouch was just out of touch of Day 3 in tenth, once again handing the region zero seeds for the finals.

On the other end of the table, Huanmie continued their dominant form to win Groups by a convincing 10 points. However he wasn’t the most impressive on Day 2. Rainplosion climbed from the bottom half into second with three huge wins on the day. Latin America’s LifesBad and FRITZ pulled similar heroics to scrape in.

Day 3: China dominates as Title almost spoils Xunge’s party

With the points reset for the third and final day, it was a clean slate for all the players at the TFT Dragonlands Championship. However the same narratives emerged with Title decimating the competition early on.

The Japanese player choked in the final lobby though despite being handed Dragon Soul, with China’s Xunge coming from behind to take home the World Championship and bring it back to China yet again.

TFT Dragonlands Championship: Set 7 Worlds qualified players

32 players qualified for the TFT Dragonlands Championship from across the world. Each region has a different qualification process, but generally it flows from open qualifiers to closed events where the best players domestically will get a chance internationally.

Because of this, some players like NA’s Amde qualified early due to performances in early events. However for the most part players had to strut their stuff in TFT Set 7.5 and Uncharted Realms. You can find the full list of qualified players for the TFT Dragonlands Championship below.
