The Weeknd fans convinced new album is coming after singer deletes cryptic posts

The Weeknd is ready for a new beginning. In the summer of 2023, the performer changed all his social media pages to reflect his real name, Abel Tesfaye, signaling that the end of The Weeknd might be near.
At the time, he said in an interview that he was gearing up to “close the Weeknd chapter.” While he might still release music as The Weeknd again, it could be the final time. “I still want to kill The Weeknd,” he added, noting how he’d love to “shed that skin and be reborn.”
On February 23, Tesfaye popped online briefly to make three now-deleted cryptic posts. “Time ticks loud in here,” he wrote in one. The other two read “i would do absolutely” and “just to be clear.” Then, poof, Tesfaye disappeared, leaving fans in an absolute frenzy.

Diehard Weeknd fans were shook after Tesfaye took to Twitter/X to write three cryptic posts before deleting them.
“Abel deleted the tweets the album is coming!” declared one fan, who then wrote a follow-up post.
“Hold on Abel tweeted album hints then they ‘faded,'” they continued. “Did The Weeknd just confirm his next album is going to be called ‘Everything fades’???”
“What if Abel goes live later and teases a bit of everything fades,” another fan speculated.
“I think we’re near the rollout of Abel’s new album of the trilogy? We will begin with Everything Fades,” agreed a user.
Many others simply expressed their confusion.
“Abel after tweeting two random sentences then deleting to confuse us,” wrote one fan, attaching a gif of Octavia Spencer in the hit horror film Ma.
“Abel got all of xo twitter to come alive just for him to delete his tweets and leave the app,” said another with a crying emoji.
“Did he just delete the tweets?????? BETTER COME BACK AND EXPLAIN YOURSELF ABEL,” proclaimed a third.
When Abel Tesfaye does return with a new album, it’ll mark his first release since 2022’s Dawn FM.
