Pokemon Go Fest 2024 trailer

A new trailer for Pokemon Go Fest 2024 hints that a new Mythical Pokemon from the mainline titles will finally make its way to the mobile game.

Pokemon Go has been gradually drip-feeding new Pokemon into the game since its launch. This makes for great event fodder, as it means there’s always something fresh that players will want to catch, giving them an incentive to engage with whatever is happening at that time.

One place where Legendary and Mythical Pokemon are often added to Pokemon Go is during the Pokemon Go Fests, which happen in different cities worldwide. One example is Pokemon Go Fest 2023, which introduced Diancie to Pokemon Go.

Niantic has confirmed that Pokemon Go Fest 2024 is happening and that it will feature the debut of a Mythical Pokemon that first appeared in Pokemon Sun & Moon.

Pokemon Go Fest 2024 trailer hints at Marshadow’s debut

A new trailer for Pokemon Go Fest 2024 has been added to the official Pokemon Go YouTube channel. The trailer features Pikachu and Eevee running to a tree with a shadow behind it.

Fans quickly identified this as Marshadow, a Pokemon whose data is already in Pokemon Go but cannot be caught in-game.

Marshadow is a Fighting/Ghost-type Pokemon that was introduced in Gen 7. As a Mythical Pokemon, Marshadow can only be acquired through external events and cannot be caught in-game. The only other way to acquire one is via trading.

Marshadow also had a prominent role in the I Choose You! film, which stars a version of Ash from a different reality than the Pokemon anime. In this movie, Marshadow has a strange connection to Ho-Oh, acting as a guide for those chosen by the great Phoenix of Johto.

Thanks to its amazing stats, typing, and moves, Marshadow was incredibly powerful in battle in the mainline Pokemon video games. Pokemon Go fans are excited to see if the mobile version of the Mythical Pokemon can match the mainline ‘Mon.

Niantic said it will reveal more details about Pokemon Go Fest 2024 soon, so it shouldn’t be long until the shadow warrior Pokemon becomes available for players to catch worldwide.
