One Pokemon Go trainer called out another fan for submitting a Qwilfish to a Gym and utterly ruining the aesthetic other fans tried to set up.

As Pokemon Go fans know, trainers who come across Gyms controlled by their Teams can submit their own Pokemon to help guard it from opposing Teams.

Sometimes, trainers from the same team will anonymously coordinate their Gym submissions, creating little themes in the Gym—often to the amusement of other players.

Unfortunately, sometimes these themes don’t always go to plan as one trainer discovered thanks to another player and their “stupid Qwilfish.”

Pokemon Go Gym aesthetic ruined by Qwilfish

A post on the Pokemon Go subreddit amused the community after one trainer made a thread titled, “This stupid Quilfish [sic].”

The trainer explained the trainer, “ruined the palette” and joked that they “will get what’s coming to them.” The OP included screenshots of the Gym that showed each submission featured bright pink Pokemon such as Lurantis, Aromatisse, and even a Shiny Heracross.

Of course, that made the trainer in question’s dark green and beige Qwilfish stick out like a sore thumb, igniting the ire of the OP.

Many trainers in the comments defended the submission like one fan who said, “bahhh the lips are pink,” and another who joked Qwilfish was “that one emo friend.”

Others pointed out that the submission actually would have fit in quite nicely if it was a Shiny Qwilfish, which also sports a bright pink coloration similar to Heracross.

On the other hand, some fans in the comments theorized why the trainer submitted the clashing Pokemon. “Drive by drop in! I do that but it’s usually my Slaking crew as I’ll sort by CP instead of recent catch,” guessed one fan.

Of course, others simply don’t care about themed Gyms. “Good for them, I love ruining themed gyms,” one fan said.

With Pokemon Go’s overall lack of communication options, it can certainly be hard to keep themed Gyms going. Perhaps this Qwilfish owner just needed some PokeCoins and moved on.
