A Pokemon Go player has shared their mom’s journey in the game and revealed her nickname “Meltan Queen” as well as her incredible commitment to one very specific part of the game.
People all play Pokemon Go in different ways. Whether it’s battling in the Great League, catching Legendary Pokemon, or finding Shiny ‘mons for a Shiny Living Dex, one of the best things about Pokemon is that everyone can play their way.
Now, some players take this to the extreme. With plenty of fan-based rulesets out there, there are some very tough tasks buried in Pokemon, should players choose to set themselves such a challenge.
One Pokemon Go player is sharing their challenge, or rather their mom’s, and reveals that there’s a possibility that nobody in the world has caught more Meltan than this player’s mother.
Pokemon Go “Meltan Queen” asks if anyone has caught more Meltan
Pokemon Go player u/AzureDiamond51 has shared a post on Reddit, with the comment “My mom’s curious to know if anyone’s caught more meltans than her” alongside a picture proudly displaying the information that the player has captured 8184 Meltan in total.
The player also shares an additional comment, saying, “Also interesting to note, only two of these have been hundos. She’s been playing for almost a year and she’s already level 45, this is probably a contributing factor.”
Other Pokemon Go fans are having a lot of fun in the comments, with many bewildered at this amazing, if fairly niche, achievement. One comment asks, “Wtf, 8k+ Meltans? Is she the Meltan specialist?” To which the original poster replies, “She’s been calling herself the “Meltan Queen” lmao.”
Another player asks a very important question, saying, “Curious how much candy she has for them?” The answer, as given by the original poster, is “She’s got 36,423 candy and 25,971 candy XL (I’m mildly terrified lmfao).”
It’s a wild achievement any way you slice it, and an impressive commitment to a part of Pokemon Go many players forget.
One person even comments, asking “How the hell” before the person behind the post explains, “She does a mystery box almost every two days, they give a lot of meltans. She has a lot of fun doing them (I find them tedious, so I hand her my phone and she does it for me lmao)”
While it might not be the most difficult task in the Pokemon world, it’s still something to be proud of. One user backs this up, saying “Dang she’s caught more meltans than I’ve caught Pokémon.”
