Toei Animation has announced live-action adaptations of the Oshi No Ko anime series, but fans don’t seem happy with it – here’s why.

The 11-episode Oshi No Ko anime was a breakout hit in 2023. After it premiered on HIDIVE, the popularity of the manga skyrocketed instantly. And now, within a year of its first season’s conclusion, we have already got news of the series getting a live-action adaptation.

Oshi No Ko revolves around Aqua and Ruby, the twins of the dead pop idol Ai. The former struggles to avenge the death of his mother, while the latter aspires to become a star like Ai.

Even though it’s one of the most popular anime series right now and its live-action version could be promising, fans aren’t exactly happy with the poster reveal.

Oshi No Ko anime fans disappointed with live-action reveal

In 2023, Oshi No Ko grabbed fans’ attention with just its premiere episodes. Fans have been waitingforn the next season, but they’ve just been told that the series will also get two live-action adaptations.

The projects were announced with a key poster featuring the main cast. However, fans do not seem pleased with it. Despite their immense love for Oshi No Ko, fans believe that the live-action will be “terrible.” Here are the fan reactions that reveal how disappointed they are:

Oshi No Ko’s premiere episode took the anime to its peak, which might be why the series got the non-animated projects so soon. While Netflix is continuing to add big anime live-action projects to its library, now, it seems Amazon Prime is getting started with the same. However, the former took several years to develop a successful live-action project like One Piece that became a global hit.

Before cracking the anime live-action formula, Netflix infuriated anime fans by ruining Cowboy Bebop and Death Note for the community. So, we hope Amazon Prime doesn’t follow the same pattern, and they do justice to a fantastic series like Oshi No Ko.
