Twitch Announces Plans to Start Offering Affiliates Faster Payments and Custom Sub Badges

Albert Petrosyan

Popular streaming platform Twitch has announced that it plans to offer members of its Affiliate program faster payments and custom sub badges.

According to their June 8th announcement, Affiliates will start getting paid their revenue for each month (min $100) 45 days after the conclusion of the month.

This is a 15 day difference than the existing payment system, which made them wait a whole 60 days after the conclusion of each month to get their pay.

Furthermore, Affiliates will now be able to have custom badges for base, 3-month, 6-month, and 1-year subscribers. This is also a major change from the default sub badges that all subscribers to Affiliates were originally given, which featured a white star in a purple square.

Twitch has announced that it plans to implement the new payout period starting June 15th, which means that any Affiliate who earned more than $100 USD in April will get their pay on June 15th.

However, no specific launch date has yet been provided for the custom sub badges, although Twitch has mentioned that they will be availabe “by the end of July.”

These changes have softened some of the major differences between Twitch’s Affiliate and Partner programs, further shortening the gap the exists between the two.

This has not been received well by a considerable number of current Partners, who have expressed that this greatly diminishes the value of achieving Partner status, which so many have worked long and hard to get to.

Hey there Twitch Affiliate!

We have some important changes coming and wanted to give you a heads up.

What’s changing?

Starting June 15th, the standard payout period for Affiliates will be paid 15 days faster than before; Net 45! If you earned over $100 USD in April, you will be paid out on June 15th for it.

We’ve been able to make this change due to optimizations and improvements.

On top of all that, we are also happy to announce Affiliates will be able to recognize your dedicated supporters with personalized Subscriber-only chat badges. These will be available by the end of July for base, 3-month, 6-month and 1-year subscribers.

I need to get art ready for July!

Be sure to follow @TwitchCreates where we regularly ask artists to link examples of their emote, channel, and sub badge artwork.
