Odogaron roaring

Odogaron will be coming to Monster Hunter Now in The Vernal Invader update, so here’s when you can begin hunting it and what it will be weak to.

The Vernal Invader content update is right around the corner. It’s the biggest content drop since the December update, which added Hunt-a-thons to the game. Not only does the Season 1 update include the Charge Blade, layered armor, and a Season Pass – there are also three new monsters for players to battle.

One of those is none other than Monster Hunter World’s cunning canine, Odogaron. This bloodthirsty monster is known for its speed and ability to inflict grievous gashes onto Hunters that cause them to bleed.

So, to prepare you for the fight to come, we’ve covered everything you need to know about Odogaron in Monster Hunter Now.

Monster Hunter Now Odagaron event requirements

Hunter fighting an Odogaron
Odogaron is making its way to Monster Hunter Now.

Hunters can unlock Odogaron by completing the corresponding urgent quests in the Season 1 story quest. Odogaron will also appear on the field for all Hunters who have completed the prologue

Of course, the star rating of the Odagaron you find in the field will depend on your progress in the story, so if you want to fight high-star versions, then be sure to grind out those story missions.

Monster Hunter Now Odogaron weakness

Odagaron is weak to both Ice and Thunder. To maximize your DPS, you’ll want to either equip a Barioth/Legiana or Zinogre/Tobi-Kadachi weapon. This will enable you to dish out huge amounts of damage on weak points, drastically cutting down your hunt times and increasing potential part breaks.

Hunters will need to be careful when fighting Odogaron as the beast’s claws can inflict the Bleed ailment When a player is inflicted with Bleed, they will take damage every time they attack or perform an evade.

If you get hit by an attack while bleeding, the amount of damage accumulated will be added to the normal amount of damage for the attack, resulting in a larger loss of health. Bleeding can be stopped by avoiding attacking and evading for a short period of time.
