Sammie Kang, the Community Lead at PUBG Santa Monica, has revealed that the incredibly popular battle royale title will receive a major update after the PUBG Global Invitational 2018, which concludes on July 29.

The statement came after a Twitter user, Kevin O’Connell, expressed his disappointment in the current state of the game, saying that “constant issues” were beginning to get to him.

Kang attempted to reassure O’Connell, saying that a number of UI and UX improvements will be joined by some quality of life changes after the conclusion of two million dollar event in Berlin.

Kang also promised that the development team behind PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will “continue to work on other things that cause issues for players” after that update.

Unfortunately, Kang is staying close-mouthed about any additional information, simply stating that the patch notes will be released after PGI comes to a close.

The PUBG Invitational will be the first major international competition hosted by PUBG Corporation and will take place in Berlin’s Mercedes-Benz Arena.

The 20 team tournament includes the like sof Team Liquid, Natus Vincere, Ghost Gaming. Oh My God, and Gen.G Gold.

The event will feature a Third Person Perspective event, which runs from July 25 – 26 and is played on Erangel, and a First Person Perspective event, running from July 28 – 29.

The prize pool is split evenly across the two championships and the MVP of each individual match will earn a total of $10,000.
