A woman’s elderly Golden Retriever is going viral after refusing to give up a bag of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos in spite of her pleas.

The internet loves animals, and this grouchy Golden Retriever is no exception to the rule.

Over the years, a slew of beloved pets have gone viral on TikTok, such as Noodle the Pug, who won over viewers’ hearts with his adorable ‘Bones Day / No Bones Day’ videos back in 2022.

Now, another pupper is taking the social media platform by storm thanks to his adorable antics… but some viewers aren’t convinced he’s totally innocent.

Golden Retrievers are known for their happy, laid-back attitudes… but one woman’s Golden was acting aggressive over his Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.

Viral Golden Retriever refuses to surrender Flamin’ Hot Cheetos

TikTok user and dog mom Josie Kamdan loves posting videos of her 11-year-old Golden Retriever, Ben.

Her videos of the adorable doggo have garnered over 11 million likes, but one of her uploads is going seriously viral, racking up over four million views in just two days.

In the clip, Ben can be seen guarding a bag of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos — and he’s not keen on giving them up.

“My dog is eating Hot Cheetos out of the bag,” Josie explained. “And he’s mad at me. Ben, you cannot eat those!”

However, as soon as Josie got close to her pup, Ben started to growl, clearly uninterested in giving up his tasty treat.

Commenters were quick to add some hilarious quips about the unusual situation, with many blaming his behavior on the Red 40 dye in the Cheetos — a dye that has been linked to “hyperactivity” in children.

“I have never seen a Golden Retriever growl,” one remarked.

“That wasn’t your best friend that night… that was the devil,” another joked.

Josie herself speculated that Ben may have been exhibiting “resource guarding” behavior, where dogs are protective of their food, toys, or water, acting aggressive if these resources are potentially ‘threatened.’

Josie admitted that Ben’s behavior wasn’t “cute” and is currently seeking any and all tips to help him with his food aggression.

This is just the latest Golden Retriever to go viral on TikTok after a woman’s dog racked up over a million views for helping his owner pack their suitcase.
