Netflix is often the home for great war movies. This includes All Quiet on the Western Front, Da 5 Bloods, Outlaw King, and at one point, the 2005 film The Great Raid.

Starring James Franco and helmed by Miramax, the series’ official Netflix plot is as such: “In World War II, a battalion goes on a daring rescue mission to liberate the Americans and Filipinos who’ve been captured by the Japanese.”

Is the Great Raid on Netflix?

Unfortunately, The Great Raid is no longer available to stream on Netflix, as it just recently left the platform.

Netflix likes to rotate it’s titled, sometimes only having the rights to certain media for a few months. The Great Raid could return to the site at some point, but there is currently no news surrounding that.

It can also be down to viewership; while Netflix is pretty tight-lipped with its numbers, the movie currently sits at a 38% Critics Score on Rotten Tomatoes, which may have prevented The Great Raid from making a splash on the platform. Then again, it does have a 70% Audience Score.
