The Rings of Power Season 2 teaser trailer

There’s no full trailer, but a Season 2 teaser released on May 14, 2024.

The footage showed Sauron’s shapeshifted elven form as he rebuilds his strength, while characters around Middle Earth reckon with the changing winds.

The visual finesse of the series is also shown off, with Prime Video promising an even larger scale than in Season 1.

The Rings of Power Season 2 plot

Season 2 is about Sauron’s return, as he rebuilds his strength and oversees the forging of the Rings of Power.

The three elven rings in The Rings of Power Season 2.

Season 1 ended with the three elven rings being formed and Sauron revealed.

Because we saw Mordor created with an explosive volcanic eruption in Episode 6, we expect Mount Doom to play a part in the second season.

Plus, the Balrog lurking in the Dwarven mines is likely going to be a big problem.

During a Prime Video Event, Morfydd Clark also shared that Galadriel will wear one of the previously forged Elven rings and that additional ones would be forged in Season 2.

Ismael Cruz Córdova as Arondir in The Rings of Power Season 2.

Prime Video’s synopsis reads, “Sauron has returned. Cast out by Galadriel, without army or ally, the rising Dark Lord must now rely on his cunning to rebuild his strength and oversee the creation of the Rings of Power, which will allow him to bind all the peoples of Middle-earth to his sinister will.

Season 2 plunges beloved and vulnerable characters into a rising tide of darkness, challenging each to find their place in a world that is increasingly on the brink of calamity.

Elves and dwarves, orcs and men, wizards and Harfoots… as friendships are strained and kingdoms begin to fracture, the forces of good will struggle ever more valiantly to hold on to what matters to them most of all… each other.”
