Clove revealed as Valorant Agent 25: Release date, abilities & more

The second Act of Episode 8 is on the horizon and with it comes a new agent joining the Valorant cast: Clove.

The Chinese hitman and Duelist Iso was the last Agent to be released in October of 2023 with Episode 7 Act 3. There are currently 23 agents in the rotation with the addition of Iso. But a “missing” agent means the next agent will be number 25.

When is the release date for Clove in Valorant?

Clove will be added to Valorant on March 26, 2024, in the update for Episode 8 Act 2. The agent will also have its own battle pass and cosmetics that players can earn after unlocking them.

What role is Clove?

Clove has been revealed to be a Controller. The agent’s role was revealed early on by leakers showing the new agent interacting with Omen, and later confirmed during the Masters Madrid Showmatch.

The last Controller released was Harbor, agent 21, who came out over a year ago in October of 2022. The new agent will bring the total Controllers to six. Other Controllers include Viper, Omen, Brimstone, Habor, and Astra.

What are Clove’s abilities?

Clove’s abilities are as follows:

  • Ruse (E)
    • EQUIP to view the battlefield. FIRE to set the locations where Clove’s clouds will settle. ALT FIRE to confirm, launching clouds that block vision in the chosen areas. Clove can use this ability after death.
  • Meddle (Q)
    • EQUIP a fragment of immortality essence. FIRE to throw the fragment, which erupts after a short delay and temporarily decays all targets caught inside.
  • Pick Me Up (C)
    • INSTANTLY absorb the life force of a fallen enemy that Clove damaged or killed, gaining haste and temporary health.
  • Not Dead Yet (X / ULT)
    • After dying, ACTIVATE to resurrect. Once resurrected, Clove must earn a kill or a damaging assist within a set time or they will die.

What is Clove’s gender?

Clove identifies as non-binary. They are the first non-binary agent in Valorant. Riot has also said that Raze and Killjoy are gay.

This extends beyond just location and culture – Clove’s gender identity, along with their personality and unique gameplay style, is an equally important facet that has helped shape who they are as a VALORANT Agent,” Riot’s Agent Lead, John Goscicki, said in a press release about the character.

What nationality is Clove?

Clove is from Scotland. They are the first Scottish agent in Valorant.

The new agent was revealed in a show match at VCT Masters Madrid where pros and streamers showed her abilities and skillset on stage.
