Sung Jinwoo in Solo Leveling

We’ve already had some awesome sequences in Solo Leveling, but there’s one moment that fans of the manhwa are particularly looking forward too.

Sung Jinwoo’s journey in Solo Leveling thus far has been a thrilling one. From encountering the Statue of God at the start of the anime show, right through to just beating Cerberus before the Demon Castle, our protagonist has consistently grown through some beautifully created set-pieces and sequences.

But the best is yet to come for the hit anime, as Chugong’s manhwa has some stellar scenes later in the storyline. Among the highlights of Sung’s ongoing battles and confrontations, there’s one that has longtime fans excited.

Solo Leveling fans can’t wait for Sung Jinwoo to create his shadow army

On Reddit, fans shared excitement for the adaptation of Sung Jinwoo’s fight with Tusk. In particular, when Sung decides to reveal a large battalion of shadow creatures in Chapter 72 that made for one of the most striking images in the whole story.

Solo Leveling Chapter 72

Before raising his shadows, Sung tells Tusk that “this is a terrible match up… for you.” A truly monumental bit of storytelling that solidifies who Sung has become since we met him as a lowly E-rank hero.

Sung and his shadows close out the chapter with a wide shot of them standing there, awaiting his command. We still have some time to go before we get this in the anime, since he doesn’t have his shadow extraction capabilities just yet, but it’s something to look forward to. In the thread on Reddit, fans discuss when we’ll get this scene.

Solo Leveling’s first season has been split into cours, so we may see this in the second half. Alternatively it’ll be Season 2. It all depends on how much A-1 Pictures changes the manhwa. We had a pretty substantial alternation in Episode 7, when Sung Jinwoo decided against entering the castle after beating Cerberus right away, choosing to heal up first.

We’ll have to wait and see what other differences await us. If you want some more action in the meantime, we have a list of the best anime like Solo Leveling.
