Baldur’s Gate 3 players want the Companions to have more to say about the important events that happen in Act III, as they’re currently lacking in opinions for the pivotal moments.

As Baldur’s Gate 3 spent a lot of time in Early Access, much of the focus was on the first of its three Acts, as that was the only playable portion for years. Considering the sheer length of Baldur’s Gate 3, it’s also the part that has to work the hardest to keep players invested enough to continue the story.

The focus on Act I makes the later portions of the story feel less fleshed out than they are, to the point where many fans consider them to be rushed, especially when it comes to the conclusion of long-running plotlines.

The other way Act III of Baldur’s Gate 3 feels underdeveloped is the reactions of party members. In Acts I and II, the characters have plenty to say about various situations, but in Act III, they clam up and aren’t as opinionated as they were before.

A user on the Baldur’s Gate 3 Reddit has created a thread complaining about how the Companions don’t have as much to say in Act III in comparison to the early sections of the story, especially in the run-up to the final events of the game. Other users agreed on this point, calling for more interactions.

“After 5 playthroughs: Whenever i reach act 3 i’m just looking forward to a new playthrough so i can play act 1 again,” one user wrote, “Act 3 has some really nice quests and bosses but totally lacks exploring and decent companion interactions.”

“Act 3 is significantly less immersive than acts 1 and 2, it’s a huge disappointment but act 3 alone is still better than most entire games, so I can accept it,” another user wrote, while another said, “I think it’s a very common complaint, yes unfortunately act 3 feels rushed, it’s still good because the game is sublime obviously but they could have polished the last part a bit more.”

“I was just thinking about this last night!,” another user said, “Talking to Gortash at the coronation when he offers the deal with Halsin, Jaheira, and Wyll in my party (equivalent to mom, dad, and my conscience) and the only one whispering advice is the Emperor.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is still receiving content via free patches, and many fans suspect that a Definitive Edition is coming in the future, one that will flesh out Act III now that the developers have had more time to tinker with it.

For the time being, players will just have to race to the finish line while the unusually quiet party members help them fight through the last battles without giving their opinions about the impending end of the world.
