Modern Warfare 3 players convinced popular killstreak is “broken” after update

Modern Warfare 3 players are convinced that one of the game’s most popular killstreaks has been “broken” by a recent update as they’re now unable to control it at all.

Killstreaks have always had a role to play in Call of Duty’s multiplayer mode. Back in the likes of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and World at War, these killstreaks were set and you couldn’t change them. Three kills got you a UAV, five got you an airstrike, and seven a little bit more.

That has changed in the original Modern Warfare 2 as players could finally customize which killstreaks they wanted to use. Even though the killstreaks change at times, the ability to select which three you want to use as a reward remains a staple.

The original MW2 also introduced players to the Cruise Missile – known as the Predator Missile back then – allowing you to control a missile strike right to the moment of impact.

That controllable killstreak has remained a constant in CoD multiplayer since and is still popular with players. However, in Modern Warfare 3 (2023), things have taken a turn.

Since the February 21 update, players have complained that the missile strike is now “broken” as they can’t control where it lands. “Every time I get my predator missile kill streak, I launch it and then I can’t steer it and it just hits some random place off the map,” one fan said.

“It’s worse than ever. It just veers north and you can’t direct the fooker,” another said. “I’m on PS5 and the same thing is happening to me in Ranked. There’s always something broken in CoD,” commented another.

Other players said that there is also an issue with the ACS field upgrade not working as intended, claiming it can be deployed but it won’t hold or capture objectives for you.

It remains to be seen if the devs will roll out an update in the near future to address the issues, but players aren’t pleased.
