Underrated Modern Warfare 3 field upgrade could be a game-changer

MW3 players have highlighted the Tac Camera as one of the most underrated Field Upgrades in the game.

Modern Warfare 3 launched with more than a dozen Field Upgrades, each catering to different playstyles. For instance, the Automated Computer Strike, which players can unlock at Level 28, works wonders for hacking equipment in the vicinity.

The Trophy System constitutes another fan-favorite upgrade. Available to those who complete three Armory Unlock challenges, the Trophy System functions autonomously to shoot down incoming projectiles.

One Field Upgrade – the Tac Camera – arguably doesn’t get enough love, so players have taken it upon themselves to highlight its benefits in combat.

MW3 player shows what makes the Tac Camera so special

A Redditor shared the following sentiment in a recent post, “Tac camera has to be the most underrated field upgrade.”

The MW3 player proved their point by uploading a 30-second gameplay clip that shows them mowing down foes with the tactical device’s help. In the video, a Tac Camera positioned at the end of one hall tags unsuspecting enemies that the player can dispatch through a nearby wall.

The user managed to pull this trick with MW3’s Tac Camera multiple times before coming out of the match victorious.

Other MW3 fans in the Reddit thread complimented the original poster, yet warned that such tactics could have bad consequences down the line.

“Great use of the Tac Camera, it is indeed underrated. But be prepared to get shadowbanned, they will report you and you will get shadowbanned. What a pity,” one person replied.

Other Modern Warfare 3 players remarked that while the above footage deserves applause, this particular Field Upgrade doesn’t always work as intended.

One such comment reads, “I always felt it was a little too situational to be [of] any use, but this was clever. Wish they had an option to have the cam screen instead of your map, think they had it like that in black ops.”

And at the very least, it seems the Reddit post will inspire others to take the Tac Camera a little more seriously. “I’ve never once used it, but this clip makes me think I should,” someone said.
