OpTic Gaming win first NA CWL 2K tournament of Black Ops 4 season – recap and final placements

The first Call of Duty World League 2000 Series tournament of the Black Ops 4 season has now wrapped up for the North American region.

OpTic Gaming defeated a roster that featured ‘Havok,’ ‘SpaceLy,’ ‘MajorManiak,’ ‘Nagafen,’ ‘Maux’ in the finals, claiming the 2,000 Pro Points and $1,500 first place prize.

Despite what was anticipated to be a heavyweight matchup, the final scoreline was 3-0 in favor of OpTic, capping off a remarkable undefeated tournament which saw them finish with an impressive 27-0 overall map count.

OpTic reached the final after defeating eUnited 3-0 in the semifinals, while SpaceLy and co. proved their legitimacy by dominating 100 Thieves 3-1 in the other side of the bracket. 

Seven of the ten total rounds were played on November 4, with the action resuming on November 5 for quarterfinal rounds and on.

Several prominent NA teams were notably missing from the final eight that made it to the second day of competition.

FaZe Clan and Luminosity Gaming both lost in the seventh round to finish in 9-16 place, while defending World Champions finished 17-32 in their first tournament as members of Team Envy.
