The new Cosmodrome Battleground GM is one of the hardest ever released, but Destiny 2 players believe they’ve discovered a trick that makes it much easier.

On the weekly reset of January 9, Bungie introduced a new Grandmaster Nightfall, PsiOps Battleground: Cosmodrome. The add-heavy activity is difficult and potentially even the hardest GM yet.

Its design makes it easy to get overwhelmed by enemy spawns, especially in both the opening and ending areas. Just one small mistake can lead to a wipe and leave any Fireteam in tears.

Yet despite its immense difficulty, Guardians have now discovered a strategy that makes the new GM not just doable but surprisingly straightforward.

Simple strategy makes Destiny 2’s new GM simple

One player outlined the best strategy to safely complete PsiOps Battleground: Cosmodrome, “Just finished the Cosmodrome BG GM. It took 35 minutes of doing literally nothing but three Polaris lances head shotting everything that spawned. We may now have the world title for most ignitions in a nightfall.”

Believing others would be skeptical, they continued, “If you are hesitant to try it, don’t be. I am not kidding when I say all that is required is to sit as far back in an area as you can and plink headshots. Invis hunter is clutch in the boss room but other than that you can run whatever you’d like.”

It may seem too good to be true but others agreed commenting, “Yup, it’s easy but so boring,” and, “Polaris is really good and makes everything super easy mode…”

Another player replied, “Your strategy works in the GM except for the beginning. If you don’t keep the payload moving, they never stop spamming drop ships full of snipers,” raising a potential flaw in the plan before a follow-up explained, “Invis hunter ftw. Others can stay back while the hunter progresses the payload…”

Using a meta Void Hunter build is ideal for playing the objective in Cosmodrome Battleground. It’s easy to keep up invisibility during which enemies do not aggro making it easy to push the payload.

A genuine downside to OP’s strategy was pointed out though, “Yes, this is all that is required in every GM if you want to spend 35 minutes in each run. A lot of people do not.”

Using a safe strategy like this can make a GM last over half an hour. For comparison, a faster run revolving around builds like Strand Titan can be finished in just 15 minutes although this approach is much less forgiving.
