EA FC 24 players have become infuriated after noticing that the odds of pulling Team of the Year cards in several store packs were reduced once the full XI was released.

Team of the Year is an exciting time for EA Sports FC players with the annual promo being one of the rare opportunities to earn the best cards in the game.

These unique cards are the only active cards to feature two Playstyles + and also have incredible stats. The top cards sell for several million coins and are amongst the rarest pulls with most players not expecting to pull one.

Despite this, it’s common for fans to save up packs from Rivals, FUT Champs, and seasonal rewards for that slight chance of obtaining a TOTY card. However, these efforts may have been in vain as the odds of pulling a Team of the Year player seemingly dropped when the full XI was released.

TOTY cards are harder to pull despite full XI’s release

The odds of pulling a Team of the Year card were lowered once the full XI was released in EA FC 24. Members of the community noticed that the Super 86+ Pack had dropped from 1.4% to trong>, the Premium TOTY Pack from 4% to 2.9%, and the Ultra Icebreak Encore Pack from 5.3% to 2.9%.

This unexpected change caught fans off guard with logic suggesting that more TOTY players being available should increase the odds of getting one in a pack, not decrease it.

After this was shared on Reddit, several players gave their views with one highly upvoted reply stating, “Nasty, greedy company. They’ll do anything they can to screw their own player base and try to funnel them towards spending real money on packs.”

Another highly critical comment slammed EA posting, “Wait, for real? That’s actually hilarious, can’t believe they’d just straight up show their manipulation like that,” before a follow-up post theorized, “They have to legally show the odds.”

Others expressed their disappointment responding, “Damn I saved my packed just for EA to decrease the odds,” and “This is normal for EA. They do that all the time, every year unfortunately.”

In addition to these Promo Packs, some players are also speculating that EA has lowered the odds of saved packs too. However, that is impossible to validate as EA FC 24 only reveals player odds for paid packs in the store.
