IHOP customer claims “racist” server refused to wait on them

In a viral video, an IHOP customer filmed their dining experience, where they claimed a “racist” server refused to wait on them.

In a video that’s gained over 300,000 views, a TikToker revealed their dining experience at an IHOP restaurant.

She says that a server told her that her shift was ending in eight minutes, and needs to close them out before they leave. She then asks for another server, but is told that the person on the following shift is unwilling to serve them because of their race.

“What is she saying that the next server won’t take us because of our race?” Mitchell asks. “Because she said it. She said it.”

“Yeah, I know. One of our morning waitresses, she’s picky,” the manager responds.

“She’s not picky. She’s f**king racist. So why is she working here if she’s racist?” Mitchell asks.

Apparently, the server in question has been working there for 25 years, and despite her behavior, has not been fired.

TikTok weighs in on “racist” IHOP waitress

After the video was posted on the platform, people were outraged at the TikToker’s experience.

“IN 2024?” one wrote in capital letters, clearly shocked by the interaction.

“I am so sorry you went through this! I am sitting at home mad as hell watching this. Virtual hugs to you! And all my love,” another wrote in support.

“This is crazy. I wasn’t expecting it to be a big chain like IHOP!”

Another commenter explained they had a similar experience at another major chain, claiming: “I live in Waco and it happened to my husband and I… And of all places… Buffalo wild wings! The manager comped our whole meal. They don’t care.”

Another customer went viral in February, after they blasted a bubble tea store, claiming that they couldn’t choose a “no tip” option
