Epic Games to Investigate Strange New Trap Bug in Fortnite Battle Royale

The developers of Fortnite Battle Royale are looking into a strange bug where traps can kill players that are above them if another player sets them off.

Fortnite Battle Royale is one of the most popular and fun games to have been released in recent years but that doesn’t mean that it is perfect.

Like any game, Fortnite has its issues with bugs and glitches but Epic Games has proved to be dedicated to fixing those as quickly and thoroughly as possible.

One strange bug that has reared its head of late involves traps killing entirely the wrong person but it doesn’t appear to be one that occurs on a regular basis.

Reddit user EyFezy originally highlighted the issue on June 11th with a short video that showed him being killed by a trap that went off on a ceiling underneath them as they ran over the roof above it.

Presumably there is an issue with a texture, or something similar, which causes the trap to kill someone if they are standing above it when a person in the room below sets it off.

While it seems unlikely that this issue will affect many players, it clearly still needs to be addressed and Epic Games is already doing just that.

Epic employee “MrPopoTFS” on Reddit responded to the post and confirmed that the developers have been made aware of the issue and would be investigating it.

Until then, keep your fingers crossed that you won’t get caught out by this strange issue.
