One Fortnite player revealed a genius trap that Snake himself would be proud of, which allowed them to stealthily pounce on their victim and steal all their rare Vault loot.

Fortnite has unleashed a major V28.10 patch onto the Battle Royale game, which has brought a wealth of changes.

Solid Snake has finally arrived, complete with his own skin, cosmetics, quests, NPC and even two Mythic Items. The Metal Gear Solid collaboration has also seen Raiden get his own skin in the days following.

Now, a Fortnite player has used the MGS Mythic Cardboard Boxes in a clever trap to outsmart his opponent who was breaking into a Vault and stealing all the loot for themselves.

Fortnite player masters the art of Cardboard Box camping

Fortnite player JustA_Pengiun posted a short clip and asked: “I know we all hate Vault campers, but can I get a pass for this?”

The enemy player was seen running down to the Vault at Lavish Lair after defeating the NPC boss Oscar as they attempted to haul all the loot inside. However, they were surprised to find five Cardboard Boxes blocking the path.

They proceeded to jump around and inspect the boxes, before jumping in one while they waited for the Vault to open. As soon as it was open, JustA_Pengiun pounced out the top of a box and quickly eliminated the player to steal all loot.

The OP admitted: “This is the only time I managed to get the kill, but like 2 or 3 other people also missed me. I didn’t think this would work originally but I was very clearly proven wrong.”

Campers typically get a bad reputation in Fortnite, and many players echoed: “The problem with Vault campers is that there’s often advantageous right-hand peeks and no-build zones nearby putting the camper at an advantage.” But, in this case, players praised the player by stating it was “100% a skill issue for the other guy for walking right past the most suspicious setup possible in this game.”

MGS fans came out in full force to praise the OP for pulling off a stealthy move that Snake himself would be proud of: “It’s a good life lesson. I’ve never trusted a box since MGS1.”

With players thinking: “these must be from the new update… let me try one of these out,” this method should still prove effective for some time. So, make sure you try it our for yourself in your next match.
