Fortnite has announced that a major change is coming to its Discovery Mode, which has been plagued by problematic content.

When the Creative Mode came to Fortnite, it opened up the game to allow players access to a ton of tools to craft their own maps and games.

But this came with a big issue when players were creating, and uploading, racist, homophobic, and insensitive content to the game for players to easily see.

Now, the game has announced a change coming to the mode to try and stop this kind of content from making it through.

Fortnite is making a massive change to Creative Mode

The announcement was shared on X, in which the developers announced they will be bringing a new reporting tool to the Discovery and Creative modes.

In the statement, Fortnite’s dev team said that along with continually tweaking and rewriting their moderator guidelines, they will also be adding an in-game reporting option that players can use.

Much of the community’s response is grateful for the change coming, with one user saying that: “Reporting options will be great.”

Many other Fortnite players are giving the announcement, and its change, a “W.”

Others hope that this is just one step in a long process of making moderation even more extensive:

“W, but I hope they will start to actively monitor and moderate it, and make the rules for submissions a lot more strict, especially for the AI art that is basically used all over the Discovery menu.”

It is clear that this announcement is a step in the right direction, but the community hopes that the devs don’t stop here to keep Fortnite an inclusive place for everyone.
