Showcases can be a lot of fun in Pokemon Go, but there are a handful of players who feel that the rewards have been getting steadily worse lately.

There are plenty of fun things to take part in when playing Pokemon Go and Showcases are a pretty popular option. They give players a chance to show off their favorite Pokemon and pick up some neat rewards in the process.

Speaking of rewards, though, some players in r/TheSilphRoad feel that the quality of the Showcase prizes have been going steadily downhill lately.

Pokemon Go players frustrated with Showcase rewards debate

Originally popping up in this post, a user took to Reddit to share their frustration with the state of Showcase rewards. They asked “Is it just me or are showcase rewards getting worse and worse”, and shared their experiences with their recent prizes.

Predictably, there were mixed responses. Some players agreed with the original poster, with one replying, “I really don’t like the short showcases for this reason.  Guess it’s nice for trying to grind the medal though”.

Another frustrated player shared that they’d achieved first, second, and third place, but didn’t get anything they felt was worthwhile, saying,” I got a lure and a bunch of potions. What a rip.”

Other players disagreed with the premise of the post, though, noting that Showcase rewards tend to correlate to the length of the Showcase. One player encouraged the original poster by saying, “Wait for a showcase that lasts like 3+ days, and you’ll notice higher rewards if you win”.

Some players even pointed to RNG as the deciding factor, with a few sharing that they’d won some great prizes from recent Showcases. One person commented, “I got an incubator and a star piece yesterday so I think it just varies.”

A few Pokemon Go players in the replies attempted to put a positive spin on the matter, saying that the shorter Showcases make it much easier to grind out medals.
