Did you collect Pokemon cards as a child? If so, it’s worth double-checking your collection, as one lucky Pokemon TCG player has found out recently, you could be sitting on a goldmine.

If you’re a Pokemon TCG player, chances are that you’ve spent some time daydreaming about finding a super rare card in your old collection. Thankfully, there are some sleeper cards that have picked up in value immensely over the last two decades or so.

While it may be a daydream for most, one lucky Pokemon fan took to social media lately to share a truly awesome collection of old cards that they picked up from their basement.

Pokemon TCG player discovers valuable vintage pieces

Originally popping up in this Reddit post, Pokemon TCG player paddy920 decided to share their finds with other Pokemon players in r/PokemonTCG.

They described how the cards were from their high school years and mentioned how they’d love to know if any of the cards were rare finds – and the other Pokemon players in the thread were more than happy to share their expertise.

One helpful player provided a detailed analysis of all the key cards, pointing out the Pikachu and Charizard cards as being particularly interesting. They guessed that there could be “close to $2500 worth of cards and the pack here, if not more”, referencing the pristine, unopened Legendary booster.

Another player congratulated Reddit user paddy920 on their incredible find, saying that “you hit the jackpot for sure” – much to paddy920’s delight.

A particularly keen-eyed reader noticed that paddy920 referenced finding some unopened Yu-Gi-Oh! gems as well, asking what else was found. Alongside these immense finds, there were also unopened packs (including Pharaonic Servant and Legacy of Darkness) and some first edition packs.

Considering that the photos above don’t even show the full haul, it’s safe to say that the original poster had a great day. They mentioned sending off some cards to get graded, including some incredible pieces from the Legendary Collection and from Expedition.

All in all, it’s an impressive find. One user summed up their feelings perfectly, stating “You suck and I hate you. Congrats on the find though!! These cards are such a cool find.”
