The Until Dawn remake was unveiled at the latest State of Play event, the classic Supermassive game getting a new PlayStation 5 and PC release for 2024.

Developer Supermassive Games is known for its cinematic horror titles. Each and every project of theirs features a roster of well-known actors and forces players to dictate their own path in the hopes that their choices save as many people as possible.

And while Supermassive has had success with all their games, their first major title in Until Dawn remains a cult classic and favorite amongst fans.

The game first released in 2015, with the likes of Hayden Panettiere, Rami Malek, Brett Dalton, and more all starring as the various playable characters.

At Sony’s January 31, 2024 State of Play event, it was revealed that a remake of Until Dawn will be released for PlayStation 5 and PC later in 2024.

The announcement trailer for the remake showed off some major visual improvements, however, it is unclear if this remake will include any new content or if it is simply an updated version of the original game.

For those who have still not played Until Dawn, we’ll avoid spoilers in this article. However, for those who are curious about what the game entails, the official synopsis for Until Dawn reads as the following:

“Eight friends are trapped together on a remote mountain retreat, and they aren’t alone. Gripped by dread, with tensions running high, they must fight through their fear if they all hope to make it through the night in one piece. Play as each of the eight characters and experience fear like you never have before.”

Regardless, the timing of the Until Dawn remake coincides with the recent announcement that the game will be getting a film adaptation, a fact that fans of the game are excited for and are already sharing their casting ideas across social media.
