Helldivers 2 players are urging fans to log out of the game to help the currently overloading servers and to allow other players into battles.

Helldivers 2 has reached unprecedented levels of success since it was released, and the developers, Arrowhead Game Studios, have faced some major server issues. Players all around the world have been unable to get into battles, or even the game itself thanks to the sheer amount of players looking to jump into the game.

Thankfully, Arrowhead Game Studios are constantly trying to provide updates to fix this issue, but now players are taking it into their own hands and are urging fans to log out of the game so others can have a chance to play.

Sharing their PSA on Reddit, one user posted: “Please. For Democracy’s sake, log out.”

“Please stop just sitting in the game and not logging out when you’re done playing so you can stay in.” added the poster, revealing how players usually stay logged in when they have to take a break, so they don’t worry about getting back in.

They went on to add: “The servers are capped, you’re taking up space from someone else. It only exacerbates the issue. The insane wait times are your fault. Don’t be a dick.”

Server issues are caused by an unexpected influx in players, so when you get into the game and stay there, it usually means someone else isn’t able to get in, as the servers are capped – so, logging out will allow others to enjoy the game while you take a break. Although it could mean you don’t get in after.

Thankfully, fans completely agreed with the poster, commenting: “Letting others in to fight the good fight is worth more to me than fast access. Staying logged in is truly treasonous behavior.”

However, others found the PSA to be pretty funny, with one joking: “To log out, I’d need to be able log in in the first place,” highlighting all the issues fans have been having.

“Taking breaks is not unpatriotic, we’ve got thousands of troops on standby. Get your R&R, get off the frontlines, and let your comrades on standby get into the fight” added one player, proving just how useful it’ll be to log out and take a break. After all, democracy is better when it’s together.
