To take down the toughest beasts, however, you’ll need to have a strong weapon, and that will require consistent upgrades. Thankfully, Niantic has added a much-needed quality of life favorite feature to the game which allows players to mark their best pieces of gear, as well as easily keep track of the materials needed to keep upgrading your weapons and armor.

So, here’s exactly how to favorite gear and armor in Monster Hunter Now.

To favorite weapons and armor in Monster Hunter Now, simply follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Monster Hunter Now app on your phone.
  2. Once loaded into the game, navigate to the main menu at the bottom of the page.
  3. Click on the gear and equipment icon located to the right of your hunter icon.
  4. Select the piece of gear you would like to favorite.
  5. From the gear page, press the flag-shaped favorite icon in the top right corner of the page.

Now you’ve favorited your gear, the materials you need to forge further upgrades will be automatically tracked and highlighted in the game. The favorite icon will then pop up whenever you’ve obtained the necessary upgrade materials for your favorite weapons and armor.
