The Phoenix police department arrested Stewart and gave the 22-year-old star a citation before releasing him shortly after.

The Associated Press reported (via NBA.com) that Eubanks did not come away from the incident unscathed.

“Security intervened and Eubanks said he was fine for the game, though police say he sustained a minor injury.”

The Suns defended their valued contributor, calling the attack “unprovoked” as they declared their openness to cooperate with law enforcement as more details unfold.

The Pistons issued a report after the incident saying: “We are in the process of gathering information about what happened and what provoked it, and responding to the NBA and local authorities.”

No word has been given out by the league regarding a potential suspension as the investigation is expected to continue in the coming days.
