NFL fans bash Mac Jones as the Patriots begin fielding trade offers

After arriving in New England via the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Patriots fans thought Mac Jones was a worthy successor to Tom Brady.
Jones led the Patriots to the postseason in year one. However, the wheels quickly fell off for the former Alabama Crimson Tide standout.
Fans claim Mac Jones has no trade value
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the front office is now taking calls for the 25-year-old ahead of NFL free agency.
Given Jones’ lackluster play the past two seasons, including a recent benching in 2023, the price to acquire him is at an all-time low.
When the news broke on X, several users began roasting Jones and his apparent trade value, with some even claiming he has no value.
The Fantasy Life analyst Ian Hartitz shared a 20-second clip showing one play from Jones at the NFL Pro Bowl.
He hilariously titled the post as “Mac Jones career Patriots highlight.”
Jomi Adeniran of The Ringer used a meme to convey his feelings towards Jones’ trade value.
FanDuel, a popular sports betting app, kept the jokes rolling with a video poking fun at Jones.
In the midst of all the jokes, one Patriots reporter offered a realistic perspective on a potential Jones trade.
At that price, a few quarterback-needy teams could kick the tires on a potential trade with the Patriots.
A few potential landing spots for Mac Jones
The Broncos are low on available cash after releasing Russell Wilson, and Jones could provide the highest-upside option for Denver.
The Vikings might entertain a deal if Kirk Cousins moves on in free agency. Jones would give Minnesota a similar skillset as Cousins.
The San Francisco 49ers and Miami Dolphins make the most sense if a team wants to acquire Jones as a backup.
He still has the pedigree to succeed in a backup or spot-starter role in 2023. Perhaps a change of scenery can get the former first-rounder back on track.
