Philadelphia Fusion has defeated Boston Uprising to secure a spot in the Overwatch League semi-finals.

Philadelphia Fusion took the third and final series of the match with another 3-1 victory, claiming the quarter-final match 2-1 and advancing to the semi-finals.

Philadelphia had opened the set with a 3-1 victory over the Uprising earlier in the week, but in their second series Boston was able to hit back with their own 3-1 win, tying the match up at 1-1 and moving to a third and final series, in which Philadelphia was able to flip the score back in their favor.

The semi-finals are to be re-seeded depending on the results of the quarter-finals, but with the Philadelphia Fusion being the lowest seed in the playoffs they are guaranteed to face number one seed New York Excelsior.

The remainder of the other quarter-final between London Spitfire and Los Angeles Gladiators will take place on Saturday July 14. The Gladiators are currently one series up against the Spitfire, having dominated the opening best-of-five for a 3-0 win. The winner of that match will move on to play Los Angeles Valiant.

Boston Uprising is the first team eliminated from the Overwatch League playoffs, finishing in fifth-sixth place and securing a $50,000 prize. This is in addition to the $150,000 the team earned for their third-place finish in the regular season.
