Pokemon Go players convinced Adventure Effects aren’t worth the cost

Pokemon Go fans have been left unconvinced by Adventure Effects questioning if the new feature offers enough value to justify the cost.

Adventure Effects are a new feature in Pokemon Go that gives certain legendary Pokemon even more value. When activated they provide bonuses that enhance gameplay.

This feature debuted alongside Origin Forme Dialga and Origin Forme Palkia with each of their signature moves triggering unique Adventure Effects. The Temporal Pokémon pauses the timers on Incense, Lucky Eggs, and Star Pieces while the Spatial Pokémon increases the wild Pokemon encounter distance.

However, these effects only last between six to ten minutes and require both Stardust and Candy to activate. This steep cost now has the community questioning if Adventure Effects are even worth using.

Costly Adventure Effects leave Pokemon Go fans skeptical

Unimpressed by the new Adventure Effects one trainer asked on Reddit, “Is it me, or are these ‘Adventure Features’ with Origin Palkia and Dialga just not worth the cost in your opinion?”

Despite liking the feature’s premise this user didn’t appreciate the value it provides, “…just 10 minutes for Palkia’s buff and 6 for Dialga at a cost of 5 candies and 5k dust? To me the price for such a minuscule amount of time is no where near worth it, especially since it’s costing premium candy and dust.”

Admitting they don’t see themselves using it much either, one player replied: “With current cost I’d likely need some ‘research’ where using it is a requirement – and I would do it then once…”

Another trainer insisted, “I will probably never use them as long as they stay this expensive,” before elaborating, “…the only thing worth freezing time for would be the adventure incense. I already don’t use it everyday so not losing anything here. Increasing the spawn radius could be fun at times but, again, not for that price.”

The scathing comments continued with others outright saying, “They seem terrible, and I won’t be using either until they get revamped,” and “It will be forgotten and not used after one week anyway.”

On release, Mega Evolutions were comparable to Adventure Features with them being considered too expensive for the benefits given. In response to these complaints, Niantic made Mega Evolution cheaper so it’s possible a similar change could happen again.
