Pokemon Go players share tips for farming Stardust
NianticPokemon Go players are revealing the most effective ways to farm Stardust to help those fans who keep running out of the precious resource.
In Pokemon Go, players use Stardust for many reasons, but it’s mostly for powering up Pokemon and making them stronger, evolving Pokemon into their new forms, or used as part of trading, especially with Pokemon Home.
The problem is that it can be easy to run out of Stardust. People who maintain a varied team or want to fill out the Pokedex will quickly burn through their limited stores of Stardust, especially as you don’t get much from catching wild Pokemon.
Luckily, there are some methods that players can use to gather lots of Stardust. It just requires some patience and the capacity to be in the right place at the right time, as Stardust is freely given during Pokemon Go’s special events.

A user on the Pokemon Go Reddit has created a thread asking fans for advice about how to gather Stardust, as people often brag about having millions of it, yet the OP struggled to maintain their supply, as they kept burning through it. Fans flocked to the thread to offer helpful Stardust-gathering tips.
“GBL gives out a bunch of Stardust, catch everything, take advantage of Spotlight Hours (or other events) that have two times catch Stardust,” one user advised, “I also only power up Pokemon when I need them for Raids or GBL.”
“Ok I read all the comments, some really good advice here, only thing I’ll add is some specifics on which Pokemon to make sure you catch as you see them in the wild. These Pokemon give out more stardust than usual,” one user said, “Foongus (500) -Paris (500) -Meowth (500) -Shellder (1000) -Trubbish (750) -Combee (750) -Sableye (750) -Audino (2100 aka jackpot, hard to catch though).”
“I’m in the millions because most of my best Pokémon are all powered up, I play a lot, and I frequently dump berries into gyms to get rid of them in exchange for stardust,” one player wrote, while another said, “Auto-catcher. Does the work for you while you work/walk and you can stock up on the dust.”
“Generally, just catch everything,” one player suggested, “You can also tank in GBL, but I don’t enjoy GBL personally. When there’s events like community days or spotlight hours where there’s 2x stardust, I like to use Starpieces to gain more stardust per catch. Currently, sitting at over 15 million stardust at level 44.”
It can be easy to burn Stardust during the daily Research Tasks, as many of them require you to power up Pokemon to pass them. The secret to Stardust in Pokemon Go is knowing when to spend it, as not everything requires powering up.
