Pokemon Go players want major changes to “garbage” egg system

Pokemon Go players are calling for Niantic to make a big change to the current egg system believing the Pokemon that hatch from eggs aren’t good enough.

Eggs in Pokemon Go are a core feature that is designed to reward players for moving around. There are 2km, 5km, 10km, and 12km eggs which hatch once a trainer has walked the appropriate distance.

These eggs can contain rare Pokemon like Larvesta, Galarian Darumaka, and Frigibax but more frequently hatch common Pokemon like Pichu, Tyrogue, and Lickitung. This has drawn criticism with Pokemon Go players demanding buffs for 12km eggs.

Now those complaints have surfaced again but this time focused on the entire egg mechanic which trainers think needs a buff.

Pokemon Go fans demand better Pokemon from hatching eggs

Frustrated by the current state of eggs in Pokemon Go, a frustrated trainer expressed on Reddit, “I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s felt like this,” with the post accompanied by a classic meme.

The meme jokes that the idea of putting better Pokemon in eggs is beyond Niantic with the developer instead considering “More hatch events,” and “More incubators in boxes,” as means to sell Egg Incubators.

The post was popular with other trainers who described eggs as being “so sh*t recently,” and insisted that the 7, 10, and 12 km eggs are “all such garbage.”

Lickitung proved particularly unpopular with comments losing it over the Licking Pokemon, “If I get another f**king licktounge I swear to God I’m going to lose my sh*t,” and “He was thrown out because boss simply adores Lickitung and Pawmi.”

Looking to propose a solution one player replied, “They could also allow to transfer eggs. I’m sick of the 5 km eggs because I have all the shinies,” which would at least let Pokemon Go fans remove eggs they no longer need.

Another trainer suggested, “I’m honestly shocked at how bad the egg system is. It should be a RNG heaven for them but they’re so limited. Something like slapping a 0.01% chance to get a popular Pokemon would drastically increase player interest in eggs in general.”

The idea of eggs being a roulette-like mechanic was backed by several responses with the community believing that the draw of potentially hatching a big-time Pokemon would justify the investment required.
