Pokemon’s cursed new Mr. Mime plush is always behind you

Mr Mine cursed plush Pokemon

A new Mr. Mime plush has been revealed, and it might be the most cursed one to date due to how it’s always standing behind you.

Mr. Mime has always been one of the most unsettling Pokemon, especially when its realistic version appeared in the Detective Pikachu movie. This is due to Mr. Mime’s resemblance to a human being and its clownlike nature.

This isn’t to say that all Mr. Mime’s are horrific monstrosities, as Mimey from the Pokemon anime has held the side up for years, acting as Ash’s ally. Mimey is so close to Ash that he may as well be his stepfather, considering his relationship with Delia Ketchum and how Ash’s father never appeared during the show.

As Mr. Mime is one of the original 151 Pokemon, it has appeared in a lot of merchandise over the years. This has included lots of plushes, which now count a terrifying figure among their ranks.

Mr. Mime’s Hug You plush is extremely cursed

The official Japanese Pokemon Twitter/X account has posted about upcoming additions to the Hug You line of plushies, including Mr. Mime and Confagrius.

The Hug You! line features long-limbed plushies that you can wear on your back, similar to Hodor carrying Bran Stark in Game of Thrones. Unfortunately, you’re carrying a horrible clown Pokemon on your back.

While these cursed Pokemon plushies are currently Japan-exclusive, the previous entries in the Hug You series were eventually made available on the US Pokemon Center website, so creepy Mr. Mime could one day be yours to own.

The Mr. Mime Hug You! plush will be released in Japan on February 8. The other entries in the Hug You series cost $64.99 USD, so Mr. Mime will likely cost the same if released in other regions.

It’s hard to say what’s creepiest about the Mr. Mime Hug You. It could be the long arms, giving it a vibe similar to that creepy clown bed from The Simpsons. It might also be the vacant, dead-eyed expression it wears as it lingers on your back.

Mr. Mime’s reputation as a creepy Pokemon is further bolstered by its Hug You doll. The idea behind these plushies is that they replicate the experience of being hugged from behind, but do you really want to be embraced by a pale clown that you can’t actually see?
