Jonathan Van Ness is nice and kind on-screen but according to Queer Eye crew members, that’s far and away from the truth.

The eighth season of Queer Eye was unlike any other, mostly due to the amount of drama.

One of the show’s main cast members, Bobby Berk, announced this is his final season after having a squabble with co-star Tan France. He is going to be replaced by HGTV star Jeremiah Brent.

Then there were the many allegations that piled up. One of the heroes who received one of their iconic makeovers this season accused the Netflix series of exploitation as well as property loss

Not long after that, a crew member alleged that they received intense pay cuts. Needless to say, the season didn’t receive the best light and these new accusations aren’t going to help.

Queer Eye’s Jonathan Van Ness accused of “scary” behavior

On March 5, Rolling Stone reported on harrowing allegations from Queer Eye crew members about the show’s hair guru, Jonathan Van Ness.

Multiple people from the production team anonymously shared their experiences working with him, with several calling their interactions with Jonathan emotionally abusive.

“There’s a real emotion of fear around them when they get angry. It’s almost like a cartoon where it oozes out of them. It’s intense and scary,” a source told the outlet.

Jonathan hasn’t publicly addressed the allegations as of yet. This isn’t the first time a star from the show has publicly been in the hot seat. Recently fans were coming after Karamo Brown, mainly because they felt as though he didn’t have the necessary qualifications to be a culture expert on the show.

Queer Eye has already been renewed by Netflix for Season 9.
