Woman sparks viral debate over reclining the seat on an airplane

woman has bad flight experience

A woman reclined her seat on the airplane, resulting in a shoving war between her and another passenger.

When TikToker Taylor, who documents her travels to the platform, was on a 10-hour flight, a passenger behind her didn’t make it the easiest time for her.

As most passengers would, Taylor reclined her seat. However, the passenger behind her shoved Taylor’s seat forward, saying it was “too much” for her.

TikTokers have since reacted to the viral story, debating who was right and wrong in the situation.

Passenger shoves woman’s airplane seat the entire 10-hour flight

Taylor described her disagreement with the passenger behind her on the plane by saying she was already on “lots of” anxiety meds to get her through the flight. So, the fact that the woman shoved her chair forward was almost enough to send her over the edge.

Taylor went on to explain that she was ready to go at the woman who was sitting with her boyfriend and mom, “I was like b*tch what, like, let’s go.”

The passenger’s mom then took a stance and said that her daughter was “uncomfortable” because the seat space was “too small.”

Taylor then asked the flight attendant what the rule was about reclining, to which they said she only needed to have a non-reclined seat while dining was in service.

Those who have viewed Taylor’s viral story have reacted by debating about the situation, “I don’t recline because I don’t like when people recline their seat on me.”

“One woman reclined her seat as far back as it could go, and I could barely move for our 14-hour flight. There’s definitely a max you should recline it,” another person said.

However, some viewers agreed with Taylor, “You deserve to be comfortable. Recline or don’t recline it’s up to the seat holder. My comfort is MY COMFORT!”

While another commented, “You’re completely allowed to recline! That’s her issue!”

Despite their dispute lasting the entire 10-hour flight, Taylor was able to tell the passenger to fly first class if they were too claustrophobic. Fortunately, though, the two will likely never be on a plane together, giving hope to Taylor’s future travels.
