TikTok star Wendy Ortiz has sparked quite a bit of attention after her baby babbled a slur during a live stream — but she’s not the only parent whose child is spouting expletives on the internet lately.

Wendy Ortiz is a prominent creator on TikTok, where she shares glimpses of her everyday life with her husband and her infant daughter, Valentina.

Boasting nearly 1 million followers, fans are going gaga over baby Valentina’s cute, chubby cheeks and her adorable dances with her mom… but recently, the baby has garnered attention for something completely unexpected.

In early February 2024, Ortiz and baby Valentina were streaming live from TikTok in a broadcast that went viral.

Baby goes viral after babbling ‘racial slur’ on live stream

During the stream, Valentina let out a series of babbles that sounded extremely similar to a racial slur, leaving viewers shocked — and, according to comments, quite amused by the situation.

“I don’t think the baby said the word, it was just babbling and it sounded like it,” one user wrote under a video explaining the situation.

“Bro, the baby can’t even say mommy, like y’all act like she knows what she’s saying,” another said.

“Y’all, it’s a baby!” another exclaimed.

Ortiz seems to be leaning into the viral moment, posting an ‘apology’ video to TikTok shortly thereafter. In the video, Valentina munches on a wafer cracker while her mom asks her if she’s “going to apologize” for babbling the offensive word.

“Can you tell them you’re sorry, and that you want to go to college?” Ortiz jokingly asked her infant.

Commenters couldn’t help but laugh at the adorable video, with one writing, “It’s okay Canelo… we all know it was an accident.”

“We forgive you Canelo,” another said. “Don’t let it happen again though!”

Ortiz’s latest viral moment comes on the heels of an emerging TikTok trend where parents are filming their toddlers cursing up a storm in the bathroom, which currently boasts over 88 million views.
