Season 3 of And Just Like That is still a way off – but fans are “relieved” that the comedy has just dropped its supposed worst character.

Sex and the City spin-off And Just Like That already has two seasons under its belt but has had a rocky ride with viewers since its air date in 2021.

From Kim Cattrall’s costly cameo to the distinct changes in Miranda’s character, many details have caused contention amongst viewers – especially concerning new character and Miranda’s love interest, Che Diaz.

According to new reports, Diaz has been officially dropped from And Just Like That Season 3 – and fans are instantly “relieved.”

Fans “relieved” And Just Like That drops worst character

According to a new report from the Daily Mail, Che Diaz – played by Sara Ramírez – has been dropped from And Just Like That Season 3 due to being “a waste of airtime.”

Initially, it was thought that Ramírez was axed due to her public stance on Palestine, publicly citing “casting directors and agents are making black lists of actors and workers who post anything in support of Palestinians and Gaza to ensure they will not work again.”

This was doubled down with the rest of the statement in a recent post Ramírez made on their Instagram profile, stating: “Our industry is so duplicitous… It’s wild how performative so many in Hollywood are. Even more performative than the last character I played.”

According to the Mail’s sources, Diaz was “on the chopping block since last season” in And Just Like That because the character “held no value anymore” and was considered to be “annoying.”

Needless to say, fans have counted themselves “relieved” as the story continues to unfold.

“Interesting that Che has been ‘a waste of airtime’ and ‘annoying’ fans since season one, episode one…but it took two full seasons for creators to catch on,” one fan posted on X/Twitter in response to the news. “Surprised they actually listened but I’ll take it!” added another.

“I didn’t make it past episode 4 of season 1 specifically because of this character,” a third user weighed in.

Other fans have stronger opinions, stating that Che was the “worst” part of the entire show.

“Finally! Worst character ever and dragged down the show. The second season was almost back to SATC form minus Che so can’t wait for season 3 now!!” one said.

“To be honest, Che with Miranda was a BAD idea [but] Che after that breakup was an actual decent character and I enjoyed that they worked at a vet clinic and they raised awareness towards animal rescue and adoption. Just like That Current Strategy and Storyline was a mistake to reboot,” explained another.
