DC fans are upset that Sasha Calle was not considered to reprise her role as Supergirl despite only playing the character one time.

The DC extended universe is set to get the reboot of the century as the studio’s new co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran have taken the reigns.

Despite a ton of movies being produced under the DC label, the universe as a whole is being recast and restructured as new actors are moving into the iconic roles established by other actors.

However, it seems like one re-casting choice is rubbing fans the wrong way as many are upset that Sasha Calle was not asked back to be Supergirl.

Calle fans upset that their Columbian Supergirl is no more

The actress first stepped into the role of Supergirl for The Flash, which was one of the last movies produced with Gunn and Safran.

Though The Flash did not receive great reviews, most critics cited Calle as a major highlight and wanted to see her do more with the character.

But, it seems like the hopes of Calle stepping back into Supergirl’s boots have been dashed as Milly Alcock (House of the Dragon) has been tapped to take up the mantle.

Many DC fans expressed their disappointment that Calle wasn’t even considered to reprise her one-time role with one user writing, “I’m pretty sure Milly Alcock will do a wonderful job as Supergirl, but that still doesn’t mean I’m not bummed the Colombian badass Sasha Calle will not be returning.”

Below are other reactions to Calle’s Supergirl snub:

A lot of DC fans are upset that Calle won’t be stepping back into the role as she was one of the only POC heroes within the DCEU, and now she’s been taken out entirely.

Alcock is joining the roaster of Superman universe hires which includes David Corenswet as Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.
