Halo star Pablo Schreiber hints that Season 2 of the Paramount Plus adaptation will introduce the video game franchise’s most famous locale.

Schreiber will return as Halo protagonist Master Chief John-117 in Season 2, which drops its first two episodes on February 8. The second season’s plot remains largely under wraps, although the official trailer hints it will depict the Fall of Reach.

Season 2 will also reunite the Master Chief with his Silver Team allies (including Kate Kennedy’s Kai-125), and showcase new faces such as Joseph Morgan’s James Ackerson and Cristina Rodlo’s Talia Perez.

It’s all very exciting, however, all some fans care about is the answer to one question: will Halo Season 2 finally take us to Halo itself?

They may have just received their answer, courtesy of Schrieber. The star strongly implied that Halo Season 2 will visit the franchise’s titular ringworld in a recent interview with Collider.

“Should we shake the Magic 8 Ball?” Schreiber quipped. “‘Chances are good!’ [Laughs] We are optimistic!” Halo, also known as Installation 04 or Alpha Halo, is one of seven gigantic superweapons designed to purge the parasitic Flood from the galaxy.

It serves as the setting for (almost) all of the first game in the series, 2001’s Halo: Combat Evolved. Here, the Master Chief crash lands on Installation 04 and soon discovers that its activation will wipe out not just the Flood, but all sentient life, as well.

The Master Chief ultimately succeeds in destroying Installation 04, despite the best efforts of his alien enemies, the Covenant, who worship the Halo rings as sacred relics. Subsequent video games featured other Halo ringworlds, which are known collectively as “the Array.”

To date, Installation 04 hasn’t appeared in the Halo Paramount+ series. An unidentified ringworld – which is presumably the same place as Combat Evolved’s setting – briefly appears during Season 1, however, it goes unnamed.

Pablo Schreiber calls out Halo Season 1’s “huge mistake”

If Halo Season 2 does take us to Installation 04, it’s unclear what exactly will go down there. But one thing’s for sure: there won’t be any hanky panky if Schreiber gets his way.

The actor insisted Season 1’s sex scene between the Master Chief and Charlie Murphy’s Makee was a bad creative choice in a recent interview with SFX.

“I felt it was a huge mistake at the time and argued against it and fought against it,” Schreiber explained. “But I am who I am. I don’t write the scripts. I only give my opinion.”
